Australian councils love the Meshed Community Network Model. It’s a free resource for the population to boost innovation, economic development and New Economy skills.
Over the past two years, 38 Australian local councils have partnered with Meshed to deploy free-to-use public access LoRaWAN IoT networks. This ubiquitous layer of connectivity has enabled the collection of real-time data about the performance of assets, places and people, as well as the implementation of new IoT solutions that were not practical previously. Applications include smart waste bins, people counting, smart street lighting, wireless water metering, air quality monitoring and hyper-local weather information. Property developers are getting on board too, using data to enhance the livability and sustainability of their master-built communities.
